LMS Releases Durability Interface for DADS 9.51

Дата пресс-релиза31 May 2000

LMS International today announced the availability of the DADS Durability Interface. The Durability Interface enables LMS DADS to export and import load data time histories for durability studies in LMS FALANCS and other durability analysis software. This interface will enable engineers to use virtual prototypes to determine how design changes will impact component and system durability.

According to Tom Curry, managing director of the CAE Division of LMS International, "Mechanical Engineers are able to use LMS DADS to quickly and efficiently predict load histories which normally requires costly and time consuming physical tests. This streamlines the process for performing component and system level durability studies with LMS FALANCS, ultimately assisting manufacturers to reduce time and costs during the design process while improving product quality."
The LMS DADS Durability Interface exports time histories of component loads (such as forces of displacements, velocities, accelerations) and user-defined functions (Expression element values) which then can be used as inputs for fatigue analysis. Modal participation factors are also able to exported in such a way that FALANCS can use this data with existing modal stresses to efficiently perform damage calculations via modal superposition techniques. All data communication between DADS and FALANCS is done in the time domain. By using functional virtual prototypes, engineers are able to quickly identify critical part failure locations during the design phase.

The interface also enables data representing time histories of displacements or loads to be used as inputs to LMS DADS to apply forces to or drive mechanisms. Data is imported by creating Time Series Curve elements. Additionally, the LMS TecWare suite of products can be used for load data analysis and synthesis for the applied (imported) and simulated (exported) load histories. Analysis ranges from integration, differentiation, smoothing to complex multiaxial signal processing and durability based counting methods.

The DADS Durability Interface supports industry standard file formats such as ASCII, MTS RPC-III, IST Labsite, and LMS TDF file formats, all of which are also accessible by LMS TecWare and LMS FALANCS.
