LMS International has announced that Honda R&D Asaka Center, Japan, has selected LMS as its preferred partner for noise, vibration and durability engineering.
When looking for a partner, Honda, the world’s largest motorcycle producer, was looking for a company with the technology and applied experience to help them develop lighter more refined vehicle products, in dramatically less time. The unique LMS hybrid engineering approach, which combines testing with multidisciplinary CAE simulations, allows a move to a digital design and refinement process, where key decisions can be made with confidence much earlier on.
The LMS deliverables are multichannel testing systems, virtual prototyping software for multibody motion simulation, vibro-acoustic prediction and fatigue-life analysis, and advanced engineering services. Honda will use them to improve the durability performance of the motorcycle frame, and to refine the overall NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) performance of the motorcycle.
The process-centric LMS solutions will enable Honda to design-in then refine critical product attributes throughout the development process: upfront analysis at the concept stages, refinement and cross-disciplinary product optimization using virtual models, and in-depth testing of a reduced number of physical prototypes.
